Grassroots Coaching Courses to remain free throughout 2010
Wednesday, 14 October 2009

After the success of the Grassroots Coaching courses in 2009, the Football Queensland Board has announced that the courses will once again be offered to affiliated clubs free of charge throughout 2010.

The ‘Grassroots Football Certificate’ is a 3-hour course, conducted locally.  The course aims to help grassroots coaches perform their role more effectively, by giving clear guidance on the nature of their role and the kinds of activities they should include in their training sessions with kids.

This is an excellent way for beginner coaches to learn the basic ‘tools of the trade’ so that they feel more comfortable about teaching football to youngsters, and their players receive quality football experiences.

All coaches who attend the course will receive the FFA’s book, ‘Coaching Grassroots Football’ and an attendance certificate.

It is recommended that coaches attending the course be 15 years of age and above so they can fully appreciate the content of the course.

If you would like to schedule a Grassroots Coaching Course to be held at your club, please contact your zone's Regional Development Officer, or contact Kara via email at Kara@footballqueensland.com.au.
